Every man needs a community. Some of us know this, some of us have experienced this firsthand— I got to experience this firsthand.
You see, my life took an unexpected turn years back when I became a product designer. I got really obsessed with this craft and very much wished for people I could share this obsession with. For years, my obsession was like a vigorously shaken corked champagne, waiting for its moment to explode.
Well, I couldn’t take it anymore and volunteered to bring the Untitled Designers Community to Benin City. I needed to find a group of people equally as obsessed as I am, and I would build it.

The Big News: I was appointed Untitled Designers Benin City Chapter Lead at the end of March!
Quick Context: The Untitled Designers Community is a community of designers in Sub-Saharan Africa committed to engaging, empowering, and educating designers across the continent. For far too long, Benin City has been starved of such a community.

For Untitled Designers Benin Community to be a reality, I had a month to onboard volunteers, set up the community, and launch and organize the first meetup.
On April 26th, we launched! We created unforgettable memories, inspiring conversations, and valuable connections.

Our speaker, Ikechukwu Emmanuel, a Senior Product Designer at Checkout, didn’t just drop tips but roadmaps to journey from Edo to becoming a world-class designer, right from your room (literally)
This isn’t just another community of designers but a home in Benin where designers can:
• Grow
• Get support
• Network
• Find opportunities
• Build meaningful connections

Thank you to everyone who showed up. Thank you, Ikechukwu Emmanuel Dumnoi, for sharing your expertise and knowledge with us, and to my amazing community members, you guys are awesome.
