A large number of people, in 2020 an incident happened that was a game changer moment in Lauren McGee’s life. Being a travel nurse, Lauren McGee’s saw up close the destruction and loss of life caused by the Covid-19 virus. Her job motivated, confront her state of being and death in ways she had never imagined. In July 2020, I was sent to South Texas hospital as a COVID nurse. They assign me work that I have to seal body bags every day of the week,this was just a few miles from the Mexican border away. I was driven by adrenaline, operating amidst complete confusion and surrounded by complete disorder.
Lauren tell her story so wisely. “I craved to journey around the globe and understood that I could not leave this life finding that part of myself that what I wanted. This experience directed Lauren to understand that how she was locked in a life that didn’t bring her comfort. She took hurdles to completely change her life and follow her dreams. She ended her engagement, loaded all her stuff into her suitcases, and begin the trip to travel across the country.

“I denied to accept that I wanted to end the relationship. I couldn’t stop thinking dreams of my wedding in my mind, Lauren emotionally said states that The thought of ending up my fiancé and causing him pain filled me with deep sadness, however, the thought of not achieving my big dreams was just as painful.
Her experiences have demonstrated Lauren the importances of seeking change when it’s needed. While it can be difficult, she has found that chasing her passions has greatly improved her quality of life as compared to previous life. Going through a sense of being ‘stuck’ is quite common, and Lauren wishes for other to dive in. In her previous life, she faced stability and consistency. However, that also introduce the sense of sameness. At present, she is always uncertain about her next destination.

“Experiencing a sense of being trapped is a common aspect of human life.” “I felt trapped in my relationship as I was evading the discomfort I must face to create change in my life,” Lauren states. “I was afraid that others would criticize me for ending my engagement.” I worried that my family might be angry with me. At times, breaking free from stagnation requires experiencing discomfort and accepting the unknown.
Lauren’s experience demonstrates that often the most valuable moments in life are discovered during frightening and uneasy situations. Discovering your true passions and pursuing them independently, without concern for others’ opinions, can truly result in invaluable lessons and experiences.
