In Loving Memory of Fern Hoppenstand Loory, A Life of Strength, Love, and Grace

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Fern Hoppenstand Loory, the beloved sister of our dear friend Hildy Lieberman. After a courageous 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer, Fern passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Fern was a devoted wife to Josh, a proud mother to Matt and Ilana, and a joyful presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was able to witness both of her children marry last year—a true blessing and testament to her strength and the loving care of her family.

Fern lived her life with quiet resilience and grace, continuing to work and travel up until recent months. Her spirit, humor, and kindness left a lasting mark. Her passing is especially hard on Hildy, who has endured many losses in recent years, including her husband David (Lebo) and brother Jeffrey. Now more than ever, Hildy needs our love, support, and prayers.May Fern’s memory always be a blessing, and may the angels lead her gently into paradise.

I am so sorry to have to post another sad passing. It seems that February and March have kept God very busy calling our friends home.

Fern Hoppenstand Loory who is the beloved sister of our very dear friend Hildy Lieberman lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday after over 16 months of fighting this dreaded disease.

Fern was Hildy’s younger sister, (Little sister.lol actually Hildy was little but she is older. That was always the joke) There was actually a t shirt stating so.

I have known Fern since we were in college, I was at her wedding, and I saw her children grow up to be wonderful Adults. My Love and heartfelt thoughts go out to Fern’s husband Josh, her son, Matt Loory and wife Shakira, and her daughter Ilana Loory Cummings and husband Nate. Fern was able to attend both of their weddings last year!

Fern’s family have all taken such wonderful care of Fern. Part of which is why she has survived longer than most people who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Fern definitely had Bonus Time with her loved ones. Even though she struggled at times, Fern managed to continue to have a quality of life, working and travelling up to a few months ago.

As for Hildy, Fern is is the final sibling with her immediate family. I know Fern’s passing is particular difficult for Hildy. Especially, since Hildy has experienced so much loss during the past 4 years with the passing of her beloved husband David (Lebo), and her brother Jeffrey 2 years ago. Thankfully, Hildys strength and all.of her many friends have assisted her through those difficult days. So as Hildy’s friend, I urge everyone to rally around Hildy with our Love, support, and prayers. She needs them more now than ever. Although, I have faith that Hildy’s resilience will help her in the days ahead. She may be little, but she is one strong woman.

Fern’s funeral will be later today at 1pm (central time) it will be streamed. Go to www.highlandfh.com. to Fern’s obituary to find the link.

May Fern’s memory always be a Blessing. MAY THE ANGELS LEAD FERN TO PARADISE.
