A raw behind-the-scenes glimpse into the emotional toll of balancing work, motherhood, and self-care. From early mornings to muddy fields, this post is a gentle reminder to all mamas that it’s okay to pause, ask for help, and prioritize your own well-being. Because even in the meltdowns, you’re doing an incredible job

A ‘behind the scenes’ post dedicated to all the working mummies out there
Amongst the many beautiful moments over the weekend, I had a mini meltdown at Soul Circus festival!
After three full-on days of getting up early, running talks and sound journeys, setting up loads of equipment and taking it down again, carrying a load of heavy stuff through muddy fields, not having slept more than four hours across two nights PLUS having Sonny with us AND having just given up breastfeeding (hello hormones ), by Sunday afternoon, I felt like a toy whose batteries had run out. I couldn’t string a sentence together or bring myself to smile at anyone.

At breaking point on the final afternoon, I told Adam I was really struggling. He took Sonny, and with my head down, sunnies on my face and tears spilling out of my eyes, I quickly walked back to the car and just cried for about 20 minutes… God it felt good!
I’m writing this post because we all know Instagram is basically a highlight reel, which can be hard to relate to and make things feel lonely. Being a new mummy is toughhhh so much of the time, even with an amazing support network around you. I see you mama

I guess the message here is – when you know you’re taking on too much – save yourself the stress and simplify! Do less. Ask for help when you need it. Don’t be afraid to say what you need. Factor in time to ‘receive’ after the amount you give out… And let the guilt go. You’re a better mum when you recharge your batteries. Most importantly, remind yourself what an AMAZING job you are doing; every single day

Huge gratitude to @innercamp who recharged me with a beautiful breathwork session, our friend @phillipsuddick who offered to watch Sonny so I could do it, and my lovely hubby @adamhusler who gave me hugs and brought me the most amazing brownie Support is everything! And of course to @soulcircusfestival which is a truly magical festival – I’m honoured to have been a part of it.
